Welcome
Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in the US, responsible for more deaths than colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined. The average age of diagnosis for lung cancer is 71-years-old with 68% of patients being over the age of 65. The most common lung cancer is non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), which accounts for about 85% of all lung cancers. While the management of NSCLC has historically been viewed as palliative, newer therapies have improved the outcomes for patients with advanced stage disease. However, these newer options are not being fully utilized, or even made available, in many patient scenarios. This education is designed to enhance awareness and utilization of therapies, improve multidisciplinary collaboration, and improve health care provider communications with patients and their families.
